THANK YOU for your interest in joining our team at Pine Point Lodge & Resort. The following is a description of our resort, the services we offer, and what is expected from us for the summer season

THE PINE POINT MOTTO is that we believe in creating an environment where our staff can not only have a great time, live and explore a beautiful place, but also be able to make and save a considerable amount of money. We want our staff to enjoy themselves both personally and professionally, thus promoting a positive atmosphere where guests and you can benefit. We offer excellent housing, meals are at no extra cost to you and we pay excellent wages with a great bonus plan.
More than just a summer job, living and working here represents an experience of a lifetime. Staff members work both the lodging and pier side of the business and sometimes work different positions during the course of the work week. AN OVERVIEW OF PINE POINT LODGE: We pride ourselves on being a small owner-operated business that emphasizes on excellent customer service. We have 9 housekeeping cottages, 6 motel rooms, a house boat, lake home, 14 boat and motor rentals, a main lodge with a small grocery store, pool table, phone, computer, books to read, board games, satellite TV and snack bar. We generally hire up to 6 full time employees, 3 dock staff and 3 guest service/ housekeeping staff.

Even though we’re somewhat remote, we’re easily accessible. The end of the road is about 1 mile by boat. The nearest town, population 350, is 1/2 hour, away by car. The nearest shopping mall would be 1 1/2 hours away, by car. Our location has access, by boat, into Voyageur’s National Park, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Canada. Guests come from all over the world to enjoy our peaceful location. They come to fish, hunt, swim, relax, hike, canoe, boat, to see historic sights, and explore the many miles of shoreline, rivers, and lakes. Before the guests arrive in middle of May, we begin training and getting staff familiarized with our Resort operations, cleaning, prepping boats and motors, lawn maintenance, and finishing projects After they leave, in the beginning of October, we are busy shutting down the cottages, and preparing the boats and other things for winter.

EXPECTATIONS:The ideal candidate for this position is hardworking, friendly, and dedicated. We expect our employees to consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, showing diligence and determination in their tasks. A friendly and approachable demeanor is essential, as we prioritize building positive relationships with customers and colleagues. Moreover, dedication is crucial for success in this role, as we value individuals who are committed to achieving excellence and going the extra mile to deliver outstanding results

SEASON DATES: Beginning May 1 thru October 15th (approximately, weather dependent). Ideally, employees that can work the entire season are of great benefit. However, we do hire well qualified employees who cannot work the entire season. Please do not hesitate to apply.

HOUSING/MEALS: We take pride in having excellent housing available and it includes home cooked meals. More details are given below in each job description

BONUS INFORMATION: This is a “Thank You” to our crew for all you do during your employment at Pine Point. It is given to those who complete their work contract and have maintained their commitment to provide the best quality experience for our guests. This includes a positive work attitude to co-workers and management, a good work ethic with excellent results, completion of work contract, adhering to housing contract and collective cleaning duties, and returning the housing unit back to the state in which it was given to you (clean and well kept). The bonus pay is and additional $.50 per hour worked. Weekly tips also add substantially to earnings

TRANSPORTATION TO PINE POINT: Pine Point Lodge is 4 hours north of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 11/2 hours from the nearest airports located in either Hibbing or International Falls, MN. Please feel free to contact us about transportation needs.

EMPLOYMENT PERKS INCLUDE AND THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE FOLLOWING: Use of laundry facilities, use of rental equipment, canoes, paddleboat, kayaks, paddleboards, and other resort amenities.

GUEST SERVICE STAFF
Be the CENTER OF ATTENTION! “Where Guests Become Friends!” This starts with how our guests are greeted; addressing any concerns/questions they may have sincerely and attentively by listening more than talking and by responding. Having an outgoing personality is a big plus due to high guest interaction. You assist in activities, answer phones, provide area information, check-in/check-out guests, guest issues, cashier, gift shop sales and inventory management

Additionally, you will work in housekeeping to ensure standards are being met or exceeded with clean, well maintained lodging. We provide reasonably priced accommodations while you ensure outstanding housekeeping standards. You need to enjoy cleaning and want to provide exceptionally clean lodging for our guests. Duties are cleaning and servicing guest lodging, central bath and lodge, including laundry. Maintain and stock supplies. Make note and bring lodging maintenance issues daily to manager. Become familiar with facility layout and area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer care including greeting guests. Have an EYE for detail and the ability to meet deadlines. You ensure the housekeeping guidelines are being adhered to or exceeded. You will be the first one in and the last to leave your lodging, so your duties are done thoughtfully, thoroughly and efficiently. You will work directly with other housekeepers on each walk through to ensure guest satisfaction. Physical stamina, positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively are necessary. Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs. Interest in fishing and the outdoors extremely helpful.

You will be trained in assisting other areas of Pine Point to help maintain quality in services and operations, so being a team player is essential and your learning possibilities are endless.

HOUSING/MEALS: You’ll share a new, comfortable room with one other roommate, includes wireless internet access, cellphone service, satellite T.V., air conditioning, microwave and mini refrigerator.

DOCK STAFF:
“Where Guests Become Friends!” This starts with how our guests are greeted; addressing any concerns/questions they may have sincerely and attentively by listening more than talking and by responding. Liking the outdoors, enjoys fishing, boating, and having an outgoing personality is a big plus due to high guest interaction. Become familiar with facility layout and area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer care including greeting guests. Accurately keep track of fuel, bait, ice and marina product sales, maintaining and stocking supplies, and general cleanliness of marine equipment and area including fish filleting. Have an EYE for detail and the ability to meet deadlines. You ensure the marina equipment is kept in excellent condition. Additional duties include: daily trash pick-up, maintaining adequate ice supplies, instructing guests on the safe operation of boats in our rental fleet, shuttling people by boat, picking up deliveries, minimal lawn maintenance. Previous boat handling experience is helpful, but not required. Required to have a valid DL with good driving record and able to lift and carry 75lb. Interest in fishing and the outdoors extremely helpful.

HOUSING/MEALS: Dock staff lives in your own private three bedroom cottage off the direct premises and within walking distance of the resort grounds. Shared with two other dock staff, 50′ from the shoreline with a dock slip, satellite T.V., cellphone service, microwave, and refrigerator.

Resort facilities are available to all employees. You can go canoeing, fishing, hiking, camping and boating at the edge of the BWCAW and Voyageurs National Park. Room and board available at the resort.
